Shift Supervisor - Afternoon Shift (210099286) Chipping Norton, Sydney, Australia
- $50-$55 per hour inclusive of casual loading and PM shift loading.

We are currently seeking an experienced, dynamic and resilient Site Supervisor to join a waste management transport company in Chipping Norton. Reporting to the Facility Manager, the PM Shift Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Recycling Facility during the afternoon shift and for achieving cost and production targets.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Assist Site Manager in maintaining safe plant operating parameters.
- Maintain site housekeeping standards.
- Enforce site PPE standards.
- Ensure all staff are aware of and comply with our WHS policies and procedures.
- Ensure all unsafe acts. Incidents and injuries are reported.
- Ensure appropriate WHS documentation is completed as required
- Manage production feed rates and product yields to meet the production targets as provided by the Site Manager and the Operations Manager
- Assist the Site Manager to ensure that the plant operates at maximum efficiency.
- Assist the Site Manager to develop production plans and schedules to ensure optimal resource utilisation.
- Supervise the operations of all mobile plant operators.
- Ensure yard is cleat and free for truck movements
- Proactively managing staff complaints and issues
- Ensure timely and effective communication with employees using both formal and informal communication channels.
- Ensure all paperwork such as checklists, daily production sheets, time sheets, work permits, and JSA’s are completed accurately and within the required time frames.
- In conjunction with the Site Manager and Operations Manager, ensure there is adequate staffing to cover absences due to illness, annual leave etc.
- Ensure employees have sufficient on the job training and skills to perform tasks.
- Always lead by way of example and set standards for employees to follow.
- Ensure employees are punctual with their timekeeping, both at the start time and returning from breaks.
Requirements
- 3 years operational experience within the waste management industry or similar
- An understanding of trucks and asset/small fleet management
- Supervisory experience of drivers and a small office team
- Strong PC and computer literacy skills
- Confidence engaging with all stakeholders including customers, our drivers and internal teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility
- Time management skills that are consistent and rigid
- A high level of attention to detail
