Ongoing Locum Opportunity – Flexible Rosters Available
We are seeking an experienced and motivated General Practitioner to join a nurse-led health service in a remote setting. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, culturally sensitive care to the local Aboriginal communities.
About the Role:
- The clinic operates with a nurse-led model, where nursing staff assist GPs with pre-screening, chronic disease management, and care planning.
- GPs primarily focus on scheduled appointments and referrals from nurses and Aboriginal Health Practitioners (AHPs).
- Nurses handle acute presentations and on-call duties, while GPs are not required to be on-call.
- The clinic operates from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and emergency evacuations are coordinated with CareFlight when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality general medical care for scheduled patients and those referred by nurses and AHPs.
- Collaborate closely with nurses, AHPs, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Manage chronic disease reviews and care planning within a culturally aware framework.
Benefits:
- Preferred daily rate: $1,800 per day

Requirements:
- Specialist GP registration with AHPRA
- Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM
- Strong experience in primary care, particularly in rural/remote and Indigenous health settings
- Cultural awareness and understanding of the unique challenges in remote Indigenous communities
- Current Police Check & NT Working with Children (or willingness to obtain)
- Minimum 2-3 weeks
