Fluid Mechanical Design Engineer (BBBH17088) Filton, England

Our client has an opportunity for a Fluid Mechanical Design Engineer to join them on a contract basis until the 14th October 2025. You will be joining the Test Centre and will act as a technical lead on an already running test rig design and build project.
You will join at a point when the detailed design is due to be imminently frozen and will lead the project through build and commissioning phases taking it through to entry into service.
Role: Fluid Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Filton – 60% onsite as a minimum
Hours: 35 per week
Hourly Rate: Up to £50ph via Umbrella, inside IR35
Clearance: BPSS required to start
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the team in completing the detailed design phase and passing CDR (critical design review).
- Develop and implement the build plan.
- Lead the Verification and Validation of the built test rig and ensure entry into service.
- Co-ordinate technical activities within the team ensuring correct prioritisation of topics.
- Support the team in their day-to-day activities to overcome any technical challenges.
Requirements:
- Experience working with large, high pressure, fluid mechanical systems is essential
- Experience of working in a test laboratory environment.
- Experience of working in hazardous environments
- Experience of systems testing techniques.
- Experience of working with Large, High Pressure, Fluid Mechanical Systems
- Familiarity with Hydro Mechanical instrumentation installations
- Familiarity with Data logging/Acquisition.
- Ability to influence and work across disciplinary, organisational & trans-national boundaries.
- Team spirit and agility
