Electronic Engineer - PCB

Electronic Engineer - PCB (BBBH14496) Portsmouth, England

Salary: GBP30 - GBP30 per hour

My client has an opportunity for a PCB Technical Specialist to join them on an initial 12-month contract. You will be supporting new PCB technologies to secure and develop the global supply chain from design to customer.
Role: PCB Technical Specialist
Location: Portsmouth – fully onsite
Hours: 37 hours, Monday to Friday
Clearance: BPSS required before starting, leading on to full SC
Pay: £30.00 per hour via Umbrella, Inside IR35
        £22.67 per hour PAYE

Responsibilities:

  • To support new PCB technologies qualification in accordance with ECSS-Q-ST-70-60C requirements:
    • High frequency PCBs
    • High density Interconnect (HDI)
    • Flexible PCBs
    • Lead free surface finish

 

  • To support the make entities for the PCB procurement process:
  • Perimeter : mainly Portsmouth & Stevenage, but also other sites if necessary
  • PCB Technical Authority support during initial PCB design phase as per ADS.E.1047 Airbus DS PCB design rules requirement
  • Support supplier selection
  • Perform MRR, including technical review and risk analysis
  • Ability to perform Final Customer Source Inspection (including PCB inspection at PCB suppliers premise, test coupons and PCB inspection, reporting of results, IST reporting analysis, analysis of request for deviation)
  • Support resolution of PCB issues
  • Participation to IRB

 

  • To support the supply entity for electronic equipment procurement:
  • Perimeter : mainly Portsmouth & Stevenage, but also other sites if necessary
  • Review of Statement of Compliance towards Airbus DS standards for PCB
  • Review of Request for Deviation/Waiver
  • Support Material and Process team request during MPCB for PCB verification and approval
  • Technical support in case of PCB issues, including PCB manufacturers outside Airbus DS qualified suppliers

 

  • To participate in the regular technical surveillance of PCB suppliers:
  • Perimeter : Airbus DS qualified suppliers for all PCB technologies (flight and Engineering Models)
  • NCR follow up (root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions implementation)
  • Process Change Notice


Requirements:

  • Technical knowledge of printed circuit board - Essential
  • Working within companies who have built PCB - Essential
  • Strong communication skills - Essential
  • Knowledge of ESS and IPC standards.
  • Experience of manufacturing readiness review (MRR).
