ABOUT THE ROLE:

As an Assistant Property Accountant, you’ll play a vital role in the Finance Asset Management team, ensuring accurate and timely financial information is delivered. Working closely with senior team members, you’ll contribute to various accounting functions, support the month-end reporting process, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Finance Compliance:
    • Maintaining and analysing the general ledger
    • Preparing and posting monthly journals
    • Reconciling bank balances and ensuring accurate coding of invoices
    • Monitoring Accounts Payable and Receivable for accuracy
  • Management Reporting:
    • Assisting in preparing monthly and quarterly property reports
    • Analyzing variances and supporting budget and forecast inputs
    • Preparing BAS and other ATO lodgements
  • Ad Hoc Projects:
    • Contributing to system improvements and workflow efficiencies
    • Supporting internal and external audits

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and ERP systems
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Proactive and adaptable, with strong communication abilities
