Our long established Engineering client, based in Daventry are looking to recruit an ongoing, temporary 'Quality Inspector'.
Quality Inspector Role:
You will be responsible for the 'Quality Management System' and inspection processes to ensure conforming products. Work closely with internal & external key stakeholders; manufacturing staff and customers regarding technical support of their activities.
You will also be responsible for all areas of the Quality function and provide support to production.
Quality Inspector responsibilities:
- Verify the conformity of parts, assemblies and sub assemblies in line with Engineering drawings, the Quality Management System and any customer specific requirements
- Identify and report non-conformance s as per Company procedure and take an active role in root cause analysis, problem solving, containment and corrective action
- Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements for external suppliers
- Devise and establish the Company's quality procedures, standards and specifications
- Ensure full compliance of the Company Quality system with the requirements of International standards and in line with customer approvals
- Define quality procedures in conjunction with production leadership
- Be the key point of contact with customers and take responsibility resolving quality concerns
- Monitor quality performance by gathering relevant data and produce statistical reports as required
- Liaise with other managers and staff and provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards
- Manage APQP and PPAP process
- Document policies and procedures relating to quality functions
- Support Production with the timely verification of first-offs, and batch inspections on a daily basis
- Champion layered audit throughout the business
Quality Inspection Requirements:
- Must have worked within a Quality Inspection role within the Engineering sector
- Able to interpret and understand technical data including customer drawings and specifications
- Experience inspecting precision components ensuring adherence to drawing requirements
- Extensive experience in a range of manufacturing techniques including, CNC milling & turning
- Experience with a wide variety of direct inspection gauges and measuring equipment
- Experience with PPAP submissions
- Experience using CMM (Manual) and other quality measuring equipment
- Automotive industry experience desirable
