Position Overview: The hospital is seeking a Nurse Specialist within the Breast Care Unit Department. This role is vital in providing advanced nursing care, acting as a resource person, and contributing to patient education and quality improvement initiatives within the specialty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate advanced nursing knowledge and clinical competence in the Breast Care Unit.
  • Act as an advisor and resource person within your specialty area.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide advanced nursing care, including nurse-led clinics.
  • Serve as a patient advocate, maintaining excellent communication and collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation according to departmental guidelines while ensuring the confidentiality of records and results.
  • Participate in teaching and mentoring of nursing staff and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Assess patient and family educational needs and discharge planning requirements.
  • Lead and participate in the development of nursing initiatives and educational programs aimed at enhancing patient quality and experience.
  • Conduct clinical audits and research to further nursing knowledge and practice.
  • Evaluate systems and programs to optimize patient outcomes, making recommendations based on evidence-based practices.
  • Develop, review, and recommend policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines.
  • Serve as a professional role model, consultant, and educator within the nursing team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a professional registered nurse.
  • A minimum of 5 years of current clinical experience.
