This is a 6-month, daily rate contract opportunity for an Azure Cloud Engineer working with local government in Melbourne’s western suburbs.
About you
- Proven experience with core Azure services (VMs, VNETs, Storage, App Services), architecture (landing zones, CAF), and IaC (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
- Knowledge of the Azure Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and its pillars (Strategy, Plan, Ready, Adopt, Govern, Manage).
- Design, implement, and manage infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates. Experience with reusable IaC modules.
- Strong foundation in Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git version control, and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- In-depth knowledge of Azure networking concepts and a strong security posture, including Azure Active Directory, RBAC, and zero-trust security principles.
- Azure certificates: AZ-500, AZ-400, AZ-305
About the role
- Develop and implement scalable and secure Azure landing zones based on CAF principles. Automate provisioning using Terraform, ARM, or Bicep.
- Implement and maintain governance at scale using Azure Blueprints, Policies, and Management Groups. Ensure compliance with security and cost management best practices.
- Configure and manage Azure Active Directory (AAD), enforce RBAC and conditional access policies, and maintain a strong security posture.
- Enable and manage hybrid connectivity solutions, such as Azure Arc and ExpressRoute, to integrate on-premises infrastructure with Azure.
- Design, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, automating deployment processes for applications and infrastructure.
- Utilize IaC tools (Terraform, ARM, Bicep) for infrastructure provisioning and integrate automated testing into pipelines to ensure high-quality deployments.
