Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington seeks a visionary leader to guide Te Kauhanganui Tātai Ture - Faculty of Law into the future. As the Amo Tātai Ture - Dean, Faculty of Law you will report to the Tumu Maruaia - Provost and provide academic and executive leadership, overseeing research, teaching, civic engagement, and stakeholder relations.
Located near New Zealand’s Parliament in Wellington’s bustling CBD, the Faculty is a hub of legal scholarship and research excellence.
Ō pūmanawa - About you
You will:
- Shape and deliver the Faculty’s vision and strategy.
- Oversee academic activities, enable student success, and uphold excellence in research.
- Be representing the Faculty at various forums.
- Forge academic partnerships and manage key stakeholder relationships, whilst incorporating new perspectives and technology.
- Be a committed, innovative leader with a PhD (or equivalent) who excels in strategic thinking, people leadership, and stakeholder management.
- Have integrity and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Key requirements:
- An established academic with a proven track record in leadership within dynamic environments.
- A PhD in a pertinent discipline.
- Outstanding academic achievements.
- Strong strategic and financial acumen.
- Exceptional skills in advocacy, collaboration, and communication.
