IBM DataStage Developer

Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services requires an IBM DataStage Developer

based at their client’s offices in Coventry.

This is an on-site role based at the Coventry office.

This is a 6-month temporary contract to start ASAP.

Day rate: Competitive market rate

We are looking for an IBM DataStage Developer with minimum 5 years of software development experience in IBM DataStage 8.7 who understands technical specs for ETL and has strong knowledge of front end development using Angular js or React:

*There will be a Verbal technical interview held for this role

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the client side of service.
• Primary focus will be to implement a complete BI solution and contribute on ETL development using IBM DataStage .
• Main duties will include creating modules and components and integrating them to one functional solution
• Delivering a complete end to end ETL module.
• Ensuring high performance solution
• Writing tested, idiomatic, and documented ETL mapping and model.
• Coordination between customer and team members
• Cooperating with the front-end dashboard/report developer in the process of building the optimum BI Solution.

Key Skills

• Minimum 5 years of software development experience in IBM DataStage 8.7.
• Proficient to analyse, design, build, test and implement enhancements to existing systems and/or new applications.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, and contribute to project deliverables where applicable
• Experience with SQL and SQL Scripting
• Understanding technical specs for ETL
• Configuring ETL components
• Strong working knowledge on IBM DataStage Transformations.  Experience with IBM DataStage transforms such as Query, Validation, Merge, Case transforms.
  Trouble shooting
• Ability to work in an agile environment with the ability to pick and learn new data tools very quickly
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment

Candidate Specifications

• Excellent communication
• Strong analytical and problem resolution skills essential 
• Strong knowledge of front-end development using Angular js or React.
