Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Mata Awhinuku - Communications and Marketing Manager, Development to lead its donor communications team within the Development and Alumni Relations Office, in a fixed-term, full-time role for 12 months. This position will support the University’s development efforts with a focus on communications for the University’s prospective and existing donors.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading a team responsible for all philanthropy-related communication and writing materials.
- Generating content for internal and external print and digital channels, including press releases, speeches, news stories and material for the website.
- Overseeing the development and implementation of the Te Kura Tangata - Development Office’s fundraising appeals.
Ō pūmanawa - About you
The successful applicant will possess excellent communication, organisational, and relationship management skills. Experience in both communications and fundraising is advantageous for this role, as is previous management experience.
Key requirements:
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with experience producing high quality communication materials across a range of channels.
- Understanding of direct marketing and appeals strategies, with the ability to effectively communicate and advise on their implementation to enhance fundraising efforts.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and across multiple teams.
- Strong capability in identifying opportunities and challenges, combined with the ability to multitask effectively across multiple projects and tasks.
