Connect Appointments have an exciting new opportunity for a Traffic Controller/Banksman to join our Musselburgh based clients day shift team.

What's on offer?

• Monday to Friday, shifts generally 7am to 4:30pm (overtime available)
• Pay from £12.50 per hour - paid weekly

Your duties as a Traffic Controller/Banksman will include:

• Inspect loads for contamination, record findings, and ensure proper disposal
• Direct drivers to correct tipping zones and oversee mobile plant/HGV movements
• Complete and check paperwork (e.g., waste transfer notes, contamination reports)
• Maintain site safety, including PPE compliance and hazard-free conditions
• Communicate effectively with site management and report issues or concerns
• Follow site rules, procedures, and management instructions
• Perform housekeeping duties, including spill cleanup and material storage
• Undertake required training (e.g., traffic control, radio operation) and additional tasks as needed

To be successful in this role you will ideally have the following skills, traits and experience:

• Strong knowledge of H&S regulations and safe systems of work
• Experience in a similar role or environment with minimal supervision in high-pressure settings
• Proficiency with tablets and ability to learn waste management systems
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work within timescales
• Basic education (GCSE/Standard Grades or equivalent) with good English skills
• Waste Management Operations qualifications - desirable
• Vehicle banksman qualification - desirable
