Due to continued growth and success, we have several exciting opportunities for experienced and in-experienced (Network, MDU, PIA, PON, Telecom) Surveyors to join our thriving telecoms team on the quest in the world of fibre.
The Role
Reporting to the Survey Manager, your key purpose will be to survey and plan line routes both overhead and underground as well as comply with various legislations. In your day-to-day work, you will be the face of ABS Commercial Solutions; you will be required to ensure all aspects of your position are to the highest standard.
General responsibilities include.
- Attend a variety of sites
- Carrying out area surveys to ascertain any obstructions
- Assessing the best installation route for fibre optic network ducts and cables
- Completing survey documentation via various software and reports
- Liaise with the public and other third parties
- Ensure Health and Safety requirements are met
About you
- You will be required to have some knowledge of the BT Openreach network or the PIA network
- Ability to understand / design network plans
- Self-starter who has the ability to influence change positively
- Be flexible and prepared to assist across the business as required
- Independent worker who enjoys autonomy but has the ability to work within a team also
- Good eye for detail
- Strong communication skills
Qualifications & Training
Essential
- Knowledge within the telecoms field and/or previous experience within Telecoms
Desirable
- NRSWA Unit 2 – Signing, Lighting & Guarding (Streetworks)
- SA001 Overhead Safety
- SA002 Underground Safety
- S005 PIA Pole Surveying
- S006 PIA Duct Surveying
- S11 FTTP Accreditation
Location
Our head office is based in Chorley, in Lancashire just outside of Manchester. We are currently looking for Surveyors throughout the UK. Regions and locations may change; therefore, you should have the willingness for frequent travel between site and home.

In return, we offer a rewarding and competitive salary from £23,000 - £38,000 per annum depending upon skill set and experience along with a company vehicle, equipment, and full expenses.
