Chief Production Engineer

Chief Production Engineer (NE53JG) Aylesbury, England

Salary: GBP35000 - GBP50000 per annum + Holiday, Pension, hybrid working

Client; 

We are proud to be working alongisde a family owned business with over 60 years’ experience as a specialist gear, shafts and machined component manufacturer. Who are looking to add a chief production engineer to help grow their team.

Main responsibilities includes;

  • Preparing best practice machining process documentation and manufacturing operating instructions.
  • Defining/optimising production processes utilising extensive knowledge of raw materials and special processes.
  • Experience using CAD/CAM software eg Edgecam, Fusion, Hypermill or SolidWorks/SolidCAM
  • Developing common practices, routines, and solutions to help improve productivity and product quality.
  • Overseeing new and assessing existing processes and workflows.
  • Assessing compliance and adherence to safety and quality standards
  • Creating Process cycle time estimates
  • Developing tooling and work holding.
  • Providing technical support for new product development.
  • Ensuring effective, accurate and timely communication with both our clients and internal departments is essential
  • Planning internal technical feasibility processes, setting priorities and targets working within our existing team
  • Working with Sales to compile complex quotes

Experience and qualifications:

  • Essential requirement - Engineering Degree level (mechanical);
    ideally Master’s degree - Minimum of 10yrs experience in Engineering environment, ideally Self-(started???) motivated, with a strong work ethic
  • Effective time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Multitasker with ability to juggle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced workplace
  • Sound judgement and good business sense
  • Good organisational skills

  • Ability to build relationships quickly and effectively

  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications
