Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a permanent fulltime Lecturer (Teaching) in Writing. The starting date is between 1st February 2023 and 1st July 2023 (negotiable).

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Co-ordinating large undergraduate courses
  • Teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level, onshore and offshore
  • Conducting pedagogically focussed research
  • Supervising MA and PhD students

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will have a PhD in writing pedagogy, rhetoric, professional writing, writing across the curriculum, writing in the disciplines, genre studies or similar.  You will have experience as an effective teacher of writing at the university level.  You will be an engaged and dedicated educator, with an interest in research which can enhance pedagogical effectiveness.

Key Requirements: 

  • PhD in a relevant field
  • Evidence of effective teaching at university level
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work inclusively with staff and students from diverse backgrounds
