Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Student Interest and Conflict Resolution Advisor. The role will be responsible for managing student issues, behavioural risks, concerns and grievances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students and staff regarding welfare, safety and behavioural risk.
  • Respond to reports of sexually harmful behaviours to support safe and inclusive communities.
  • Provide conflict resolution services and interventions.
  • Deliver training and education programs.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be a motivated and autonomous individual who is comfortable working with behavioural risk and complex needs in a tertiary environment. You will thrive in this role with excellent communication skills, the ability to manage complex cases and skills in influencing and resolving conflict.

This role is dynamic, challenging, and interesting for the individual with the right temperament. 

Key Requirements: 

  • Experience in triage, behavioural risk assessment and complex case management.
  • Demonstrated relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in conflict resolution.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. 
  • Capability to work as part of a team as well as having individual responsibilities.
