Risk Quantification Engineer (09/12/2024) Nanterre, France

We are looking for a Risk Quantification Engineer for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: Nanterre, France

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 6 Months

Qualification and Experience Required:

  • Master of Science Degree in Engineering, preferably HSE / Safety or Chemical Engineering,
  • Well-established knowledge of Risk Quantification / Loss Prevention activities and modelling Software,
  • Well-established knowledge of International HSE Codes & Standards and Major COMPANY Safety Specifications,
  • Basic knowledge of LNG Process technologies and associated risks,
  • Sound judgment in technical matters with good skills in plant design optimization/modification,
  • Working proficient in English,
  • Good Teamwork and inter-personal skills,
  • Significant experience with track record in Risk Quantification for the Industry
  • Dynamic & Proactive,
  • Rigorous (including traceability of source, comments & modifications),
  • Autonomous (good self-organization, ability to interface inside and outside the HSED team, etc.),
  • Comfortable with the use of common computer tools (Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Power point, Adobe Acrobat, etc).

The required technical skills are mainly the following:

  • Risk analysis,
  • Plot plan review,
  • Knowledgeable in accident phenomenology (Flammable or toxic material Dispersion, Fire, Explosion …),
  • Hazard Analysis Study / Consequence modelling,
  • Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA),
  • Ability to ensure follow up of RAM (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability) study,
  • Must have (with track record): experienced user of PHAST® and Safeti® for design purpose on projects,
  • Must have (with track record): experience in using Multi Energy approach including definition of congested areas.
  • Previous experience on EPC LNG project as Risk Quantification / Loss Prevention Engineer would be appreciated.
  • Experience with CFD consequence modelling tool (in particular Dispersion/ Explosion eg FLACS®) would be appreciated.
  • Experience with worldwide Operators standards would be appreciated.

Responsibilities:

  • All risk quantification activities and to produce the associated Calculation Notes and reports,
  • Monitor progress and comply with the schedule milestones and the allocated budget,
  • Formalize feedbacks and share experience with the CONTRACTOR Risk Quantification Department,
  • Manage interfaces with the Project Management Team, the Client, the Partners, and the other disciplines (P&ID Department, Process Department, Piping & Material Department, Civil Department, E&I Department, Package Department, etc.), and with the other involved operating centers.
  • Prepare replies to COMPANY comments on the deliverables,
  • Prepare Engineering Queries where clarifications are required from COMPANY,
  • Raise inconsistencies in the Basis of Design to CONTRACTOR attention,
  • Participate to regular meeting with Risk Quantification Lead or Head of Department,
  • Issue weekly report to CONTRACTOR,
  • Attend / present in meetings when Risk Quantification representative is required,
  • Perform the activities in accordance with Project procedures developed by CONTRACTOR (ex. Interface management, COMPANY communication, document numbering, HSE, quality…)
