USEReady has an immediate contract to hire role in Elizabeth, NJ for an IBM I (AS/400) System Operator.
Role and Responsibilities:
The IBM I System Operator will be responsible for:
- Running standard jobs.
- Maintain system and device health for high volume printers, tape drives.
- Perform and manage backups.
- Operate system side software.
- Respond to error messages and resolve underlying issues.
- Apply PTFs, perform IPLs, contact vendors for maintenance.
- Run print jobs for business documents (e.g., invoices and reports) and distribute output as necessary.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years IBM I, iSeries or AS400 operator experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency IBM I OS v7.3
- Troubleshooting and technical experience related to IBM i.
- Must be able to run jobs from established run sheets and maintain those run sheets
- IBM I Command set (Control Language Programming (CLP))
- Minimum 1 year of Mimix experience
- Prior BRMS experience
- Ability to apply PTFs
- Ability to perform IPLs
- Prior HMC and Console experience
- Interaction with users
- Ability to work evenings weekends and holidays when necessary.
- Familiarity with S/36 environment.
Education/Certification Requirements:
- A college degree or equivalent work experience
- IBM System I operations certifications a plus
Desirable Experience:
- RPG programming language (IV, ILE and Freeform)
- SQL
- Cisco Meraki and Unified Communications

- Beverage industry experience
- Experience with business users in the following departmental functions
