Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks & Civil Engineering
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in groundworks and civil engineering to join our clients dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of large-scale construction projects, ensuring cost efficiency and commercial success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the commercial management of projects, ensuring financial control from inception to completion.
- Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and valuations for groundworks and civil engineering projects.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, ensuring value for money and compliance with company standards.
- Conduct cost reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Handle contract negotiations, variations, and claims, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure the successful delivery of:
- Foundations (inclusive of all types).
- Heavy civils work.
- Internal drainage and services installation.
- Utility network development.
- Infrastructure improvements and enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Provide detailed commercial advice and support to project managers and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in groundworks and civil engineering.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and procurement.
- Experience managing complex infrastructure projects, including drainage, utilities, and foundations.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to prepare detailed financial reports.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- RICS or CIOB accreditation (preferred but not essential).
