Shunter Driver

Stafforce are recruiting for Shunter Drivers in the Scunthorpe area for our prestigious client. These are excellent opportunities on a temporary-permanent basis for the right candidates.

Working Times: Start times are 6am, finish times range between 2pm-5pm dependant on requirements. Shifts Monday-Friday but weekend work may be required to suit operational needs.

The Job Role

Working as a Shunter driver across the steel site, transporting steel loads across the yard.

• Sheeting up
• Operating HGV's and vehicles around site
• Ensuring correct loads
• Ensuring safe loads
• Using hand scanners to check goods in and out
• Supporting on stock takes
• Operating bowser's

Pay Rates: Pre 12 weeks: £11.95 PH, £15.29 PH Overtime rate over 37.5 hours.

Post 12 weeks: £12.16 PH, £16.17 overtime rate over 37.5 hours, £14.36 post 26 week rate, £18.67 overtime rate over 37.5 hours

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will have a permanent opportunity following a probationary and training period.

• HGV class 1 driving experience
• Must have held their HGV licence at least 1 year for insurance purposes. 
• No more than 6 points on their Driving Licence. 
• H&S conscious at all times
• Previous experience operating radios is highly advantageous however training can be provided
• Previous experience in a Yard Shunter / Transfer role would be beneficial but not essential.
• Previous experience operating hand scanners is highly advantageous but not essential as training provided
• Steel experience is highly desirable
