Summary:

The Aircraft MRO Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing business operations and driving continuous improvement efforts to grow the business unit. With a full focus on safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and profitability, this role ensures the effective operation of a plant through strategic methods. This position involves performing safety-sensitive functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate activities of departments related to production, sales, and product distribution.
  • Manage staff by preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards through quality procedures and manuals.
  • Review sales, operational metrics, activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement, identifying areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
  • Improve workflow by managing constraint and bottleneck processes.
  • Provide leadership and manage personnel to achieve operational goals, including staffing requirements, interviewing, hiring, managing cross-training plans, and training new employees.
  • Perform shop floor optimization and lean improvements while ensuring conflict resolution to drive profitable growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other management to ensure appropriate allocation of resources and manpower.
  • Identify negative trends preemptively and work creatively with other management to achieve win-win solutions, balancing program requirements with resource constraints.
  • Effectively address customer concerns, providing solutions such as reallocation of resources, revised schedules, or modified contractual specifications.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in operations management is preferred.
  • FAA Airframe License is required.
  • Knowledge of general technical fields such as engineering, contracts administration, or program management is essential.
  • Fluent verbal and written English skills are required.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and MS Office products.
  • Must be a team player who contributes ideas and solutions.
  • Strong communication skills.
