About the Role:
We are looking for a Training Manager to take ownership of our workforce development and training programs, playing a critical role in driving continuous improvement within our organization. This position focuses on crafting and executing a comprehensive training strategy that ensures our team is equipped with the skills, certifications, and expertise to excel in engine MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) services. The ideal candidate will deliver impactful on-floor and classroom training, fostering a culture of excellence and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reimagine the Training Framework: Redesign the repair station employee training program to meet 14 CFR Part 145, §145.163 requirements, encompassing diverse training categories, core program components, and industry-leading modules.
- Design and Deploy Learning Programs: Develop and roll out specialized training for aircraft maintenance operations, including airframe, engine, and avionics troubleshooting, as well as comprehensive technical curricula.
- Deliver High-Impact Training: Facilitate engaging sessions, including “train the trainer” workshops, to expand the team’s knowledge base and internal teaching capacity.
- Analyze and Address Skill Gaps: Conduct assessments to identify skill deficiencies at the individual and team levels, creating prioritized development plans to address these needs.
- Build Comprehensive Training Matrices: Define role-specific requirements and design matrices to support career progression and consistent skills development.
- Streamline Training Records Management: Establish a robust system for tracking training activities, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and organizational standards.
- Measure and Improve Training Outcomes: Collect feedback and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making continuous improvements to enhance their impact.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with leadership to align training initiatives with strategic goals, operational objectives, and workforce demands.
- Leverage External Expertise: Partner with top-tier training vendors to supplement internal resources and bring fresh perspectives to learning solutions.
- Apply Innovative Learning Practices: Incorporate cutting-edge instructional design techniques and proven methodologies to create engaging, results-driven training experiences.
- Inspire and Lead: Mentor team members, foster a positive learning culture, and drive initiatives that support employee growth and development.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience in organizational leadership and workforce development.
- At least 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, with expertise in airframe, engine, or avionics systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Adult Learning, Organizational Development, or a related discipline.
- A&P License (Airframe & Powerplant).
- Proven success in managing organization-wide training initiatives and implementing systems-thinking approaches.
- Deep knowledge of aircraft maintenance processes and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to implement training programs from concept to completion.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with a talent for building relationships across all levels of the organization.
