Monday to Friday (37 hours with flexi time)

£40,000 to £50,000 DOE

Pension, Life Assurance, Bonus Scheme, Healthcare, 25 Days Holiday + 8 Days Bank Holiday 

A market leading manufacturing company is looking for a Project Manager to join the team at their site in Manchester. The business is looking to expand their team and are experiencing record production numbers. With a range of clients globally this opportunity offers long term technical challenge and progression.

Role Description

  • Ensure that assigned projects are delivered on-time, meet specification and are fulfilled within budget.
  • Lead the detailed design of the system, supporting team members as required (typically design draughtsmen, commissioning engineers etc). Liaising with Head of Engineering as required for guidance on standard approaches or technically challenging aspects.
  • Manage the relationship with the client project manager involving others as appropriate (e.g., sales).
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs including keeping clear records of approved variations with client.
  • Reporting of progress against the project plan, budget and milestones.
  • Escalation of concerns to management especially in areas impacting risk.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Co-ordinate project closure, snagging and client SAT.

Skills and Qualifications

  • At least three years’ experience in industry, possibly as a design engineer in an SME manufacturing operation or possibly a division of a larger corporation.
  • Exposure to the food and/or chemical industry would be very useful.
  • To be successful in this role, you will likely be HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar, with a background in the bulk handling sector
  • Design experience in a manufacturing company using Inventor 3D is highly desirable. Experience using other similar systems will be acceptable
