My client, a market leader within their sector is looking for an experienced Technical Author to join the team. The business operates in a secure market, with a strong customer base, manufacturing and supplying cutting-edge technology globally. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong industry knowledge, customer facing skills and sales acumen to implement new techniques and drive the business forward

Role Description

• To create and maintain all customer facing operational and technical manuals for all company products.
• To support other teams, mainly marketing, sales and customer support by providing well-presented technical documentation and drawings.
• To maintain access by various user groups to the document library, provide document issue control and archiving practice.
• To keep up to date with existing and future development product range, both at a user / operational level, and at a technical / implementation and integration level.
• To develop alternative forms of interactive training and informative materials, such as mixed reality, video demonstrations and interactive documents.
• To maintain a visuals library of products to allow others to be able to quickly create custom console layout and network drawings.

Skills and Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to produce clear and concise text on complex subjects that is easy to understand by people with varied skill levels, and by people whose first language may not be English.
• Ability to quickly pick up existing detailed drawings and adapt customer manuals to reflect changes
• Attention to detail, consistency and accuracy. Conscientious in nature. .
• Able to produce clear and meaningful diagrams to supplement and replace textual content.
• Highly motivated, able to plan and report on own projects, employ time management and work to deadlines.
• Organisational and interpersonal skills in order to manage information flow from contributors and reviewers.
• Able to pick up and learn new IT systems and packages quickly.
• Able to research via product specifications and third party material as well as by hands-on experience
