Senior Corporate Tax Specialist wanted for a Global Luxury Retailer
Location- WFH, Head Office visits to London occasionally.
Salary: up to £95k
My Client is seeking a dynamic Tax Specialist with a robust background in compliance and reporting to take on a pivotal role within their organization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in managing the corporate tax cycle, providing expert advice, preparing accurate tax disclosures for accounts, and contributing to quarterly forecasting. This role involves fostering positive relationships with tax authorities, acting as a key liaison for external advisers, and collaborating closely with local and group finance teams.
As a crucial member of their global tax team, you will work directly with the Global Transfer Pricing Lead. Whether you currently operate in-house or within a large accountancy practice, we are looking for individuals who hold qualifications such as ACA, ICAS, or CTA (or equivalent).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee and Manage Tax Compliance: Lead the accurate preparation and filing of corporate tax computations for EMEA Group entities, collaborating with external advisors.
Consolidated Tax Reporting: Take charge of delivering quarterly and full-year Group consolidated tax reporting under US GAAP.
Support for EMEA Entities: Assist EMEA entities with tax accounting and notes for stand-alone financial statements, ensuring timely and efficient delivery for tax statutory audits.
External Relationships: Support external relationships with tax authorities, ensuring compliance with EMEA companies' obligations.
Documentation and Renewals: Obtain/renew EMEA residence certificates as required.
Tax Authority Enquiries: Provide support for tax authority inquiries across the EMEA region.
Risk and Controls Framework: Contribute to an effective risk and controls framework for tax, collaborating with internal stakeholders and the Internal Audit function.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of EMEA tax rules, assess potential impacts, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
Collaborative Work: Partner with business and support teams to ensure both ongoing needs and ad-hoc requests are addressed in a timely manner.
Tax Governance: Take responsibility for designing, implementing, and maintaining tax governance processes and controls, including Tax strategy, MDR, Tax Control Framework, and Operating Guidelines.
Pillar 1 & 2 Impact Analysis: Collaborate with the tax team on Pillar 1 & 2 impact analysis and reporting.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
Technical Expertise: Strong technical expertise with ACA/ACCA/CTA qualification and a minimum of 5-7 cycles of experience in corporate tax compliance and reporting.
ERP Systems and Software Proficiency: Knowledge of ERP systems and tax compliance and reporting software solutions, coupled with proficiency in IT tools.
Multijurisdictional Management: Ability to manage a variable and diverse workload covering multiple jurisdictions.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both with tax and non-tax specialists.
Interpersonal Skills: Personable character with the ability to be persuasive and persistent in obtaining information.
Team Player: A collaborative team player with a "can do" and enthusiastic attitude, capable of working independently on assigned tasks.
Adaptability: Ability to learn and develop expertise with the right support.
Language Skills: Fluent in English, with additional languages being a plus.
