One of the UK’s most highly renowned FMCG manufacturing companies is seeking a skilled Site Services / Utilities Engineer to join their team in Gloucester. This role is integral to maintaining the efficiency of our utility systems and services that support high-speed food processing and production operations.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the operation and maintenance of site utilities, including water, steam, refrigeration, and compressed air systems.
  • Perform reactive and planned maintenance on utilities infrastructure to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and repair site services equipment, including pumps, compressors, boilers, and HVAC systems.
  • Collaborate with production teams to maintain seamless operations and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Implement continuous improvement practices focusing on optimizing utility performance and reducing energy usage.
  • Participate in project work related to utilities systems including installations, upgrades, and modifications.
  • Conduct both mechanical and electrical fault finding on utility systems and associated equipment.

 

Requirements:

  • Ideal qualifications include a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent (minimum NVQ Level 3 Engineering).
  • Practical experience in a utilities or site services role within the food or FMCG/packaging industry.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Comfortable with large mechanical repairs and installations.
  • Familiarity with maintenance practices for industrial utilities such as pumps, compressors, and HVAC systems.
  • Understanding of regulations and best practices for site services and utilities management.

Shifts & Benefits Package:

  • Shift: - Days & Night rotating shifts pattern ( 4on,4off)
  • Salary: - £55,000 – £60,000 + benefits
