IT Business Analyst

IT Business Analyst (AW1508) Oxfordshire, England

Salary: GBP400 - GBP500 per annum

Role Purpose: They will play a critical role in bridging the gap between the business objectives and technology capabilities. They will work closely with key stakeholders to gather and analyse data, map business processes (BPMN 2.0) and key business activities and their timing. This will then need to be assessed to understand the impact of the IT integration project (including user, end point migrations and systems migrations) on these processes and activities. Their insights and recommendations will be vital in driving successful program outcomes and ensuring seamless transitions and minimal impact to business operations.

Operational Duties:

  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Identify and communicate with key stakeholders to understand their needs and objectives.
    • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and the project team to ensure clear communication and mutual understanding.
  • Data Analysis
    • Gather, review, and analyse data to support project goals.
    • Collect and document information required to map high-level business processes and user personas.
  • Business Process Mapping
    • Map business processes using BPMN 2.0.
    • Assess the impact of migration on business processes and user personas.
  • Requirement Development
    • Develop use cases, acceptance criteria, and test steps to ensure quality outcomes.
    • Ensure project documentation is captured and managed in line with agreed ways of working.
  • Testing and Validation
    • Participate in the development validating requirements.
    • Develop and execute test plans to validate that solutions meet business requirements.
  • Documentation and Training
    • Develop adoption and training documentation to support end-user engagement and proficiency.
    • Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including process flows, use cases, and data models.
  • Collaboration and Coordination
    • Collaborate effectively with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and success.
    • Coordinate activities across different project workstreams

Desirable

  • Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)
  • Familiarity with industry technology systems and vernacular and their use in business operations (M365, ERP/MRP, EntraID, cyber security etc)
  • Experience testing and mapping various business processes and protocols.
