We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Analytics Unit within the Information Technology Directorate. This role is initially a 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing data warehouse and business intelligence platforms. You will work closely with a high-performing team to strategize and implement BI solutions that drive valuable insights for the organization.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a strong team player with a passion for delivering high-quality BI solutions in a cloud-based environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand business needs and translate them into data solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain Azure Synapse Analytics solutions.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using SSIS, PolyBase, Stream Analytics, and PowerShell.
• Develop and manage SQL, MDX/DAX, PowerShell, C#, and Python source code using Azure DevOps.
• Create and maintain data models, mappings, and documentation.
• Develop Power BI reports, Azure Analysis Services cubes, and business intelligence solutions.
• Implement and manage master data management (MDM) entities, business rules, and strategies.
• Conduct unit testing, root cause analysis, and defect triage.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 5+ years of experience in technical analytics or business intelligence environments.
• Expertise in Microsoft SQL databases and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, Power BI, and DAX.
• Experience with Python or C#.
• Hands-on experience with large, complex data warehouses using the Microsoft BI Stack in an Azure/cloud-based environment.
