Salary: GBP25000 - GBP32000 per annum + + 20% shift allowance + company benefits

Position: Mechanic (open to senior and/or junior applicants)

Location: Lowestoft

Salary: Approx: £25,000 - £32,000 (some flexibility depending on experience) + 20% shift allowance + company benefits

We have an opportunity for an Automotive or Boat/Marine Mechanic to join our team working on exciting projects based at our workshop in Lowestoft. As the Mechanic you will be involved in all types of maintenance and repair work which will be required during the testing phases of our engine systems.

Key responsibilities and skills required for the Mechanic vacancy:

  • Practical mechanical hands on experience fitting and replacing engine parts such as gearboxes and/or gear systems, drive systems, supporting with building test rigs to test units and log data/information for analysis.
  • Previous experience working as a Mechanic/Technician on diesel engines would be highly beneficial although not essential. 
  • Dismantle and decommission equipment, inspect, repair and record the results/data for analysis.
  • The regular inspection of test units and the recording/reporting of any issues identified.
  • Support the Test Engineers with the commissioning of Installations.
  • To ensure that all relevant faults are recorded and reported to engineering.
  • To ensure all assembly checklists are completed as required during the assembly process.
  • Previous experience working in a similar role (Mechanic) from Automotive, Aerospace, Marine, or similar SME background.
  • Be Dependable, Positive, Flexible and Effective in the workplace.
  • Be able to work flexible hours and overtime as required.
  • Team player, comfortable with supporting, and accepting support from, colleagues.
  • A qualification (Apprenticeship, BTEC, C&G) from industry.
  • Clean driving licence.
