Our client is a leading food manufacturer, that values hard work, teamwork and developing people. They are part of a global group with multiple sites in the UK, this is one of their flagship growing operations. They are looking for an experienced Senior Shift Engineer to lead a team of engineers.

 

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for reactive & planned maintenance across all areas of engineering – manufacturing, production, site services, infrastructure & plant equipment
  • Hands-on leading the team – workload allocation, PPM planning, managing contractors, H&S
  • Carry out PPM schedule effectively and efficiently
  • Involved with site project work – installations & upgrades to machinery
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding & repairs
  • Dealing with high-speed food production, processing & packaging machinery, automation & controls
  • PLC – electrical fault finding
  • Worked on motors, servo drives, sensors, inverters, pneumatics, gearboxes, pumps, compressors
  • Continuous improvements – suggesting new things, sharing ideas

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Previously have led a team hands-on – supervisor, senior engineer, team leader
  • Have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship
  • Be a multi-skilled engineer – ideally with an electrical biased
  • Must have worked in a food / FMCG manufacturing environment that is fast paced
  • Working knowledge of a CMMS system
  • Be a team player, want proactive individuals
  • Qualified to HNC level
  • PLC – electrical fault finding
  • Able to fault find both electrically & mechanically
  • Comfortable working at heights and in hot conditions sometimes
  • Happy working in a time-sensitive busy environment
  • Have experience with continuous improvements & lean manufacturing
  • Any qualifications in food hygiene, safety etc. beneficial
