Wimbledon, Southwest London

£45,000-£55,000

Monday-Friday 3-Shift – 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am

 

Our client is a leading food manufacturing business, with multiple sites in the UK. Due to an increase in headcount and up and coming retirements within the business they are looking for multi-skilled maintenance engineers with an electrical biased to join their close knit engineering team.

 

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Carry out planned maintenance and fault finding / breakdowns
  • Working on fully automated food production & packaging machinery, conveyor driven lines
  • Dealing with control panels, motors, sensors, pneumatics, inverters, relays, contactors, bearings
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding & repairs
  • PLC – electrical fault finding
  • Project work – new machine electrical installations & site developments
  • Carry out pre-production machine startups and checks
  • Manage maintenance records, PPM’s schedules, ordering spares/parts, machine availability
  • Contractor management – signing in, RTW’s, completing inductions, health & safety

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Multi-Skilled Engineers – but must be electrically biased
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering – Time-served Apprenticeship ideally
  • Must have worked in food manufacturing or FMCG production environments previously
  • Excellent problem solving & fault diagnosis skills
  • Both strong electrical & mechanical fault finding and repair skills
  • Must have at least 10+ years experience in a similar maintenance engineering position
  • Dealt with high-speed production & packaging machinery
  • Worked on PLC systems, Control Panels, HMi’s & SCADA Systems
  • Beneficial to have electrical safety knowledge of isolations and electrical H&S standards
  • Bonus if have 17th / 18th Edition
  • Knowledge of health & safety standards
  • Self-driven and motivated character
  • Excellent written & spoken communication skills
  • Beneficial if can carry out welding & fabrication work
  • Comfortable contributing to the success within a small engineering team
