Our client is a leading food manufacturer, that values hard work, teamwork and developing people. They are part of a global group with multiple sites throughout the UK & Europe, this is one of their flagship operations. They are looking for Multi-Skilled Shift Engineers due to recent promotions within the team.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for reactive & planned maintenance across all areas of engineering – manufacturing, production, site services and associated facilities
  • Carry out PPM schedules effectively and efficiently
  • Involved with site project work – installations & upgrades to machinery
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding & repairs
  • Dealing with high-speed food production, processing & packaging machinery, automation & controls
  • PLC – electrical fault finding
  • Worked on motors, servo drives, sensors, inverters, pneumatics, gearboxes, pumps, compressors
  • Continuous improvements – suggesting new things, sharing ideas
  • Working as part of a small team, sometimes unsupervised
  • Ensure lock off procedures are followed, operate within HSE protocols & SOP’s

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship
  • Be a multi-skilled engineer – ideally with an electrical biased
  • Must have worked in a food / FMCG manufacturing environment that is fast paced
  • Working knowledge of a CMMS system desirable
  • Be a team player, want proactive individuals, working in a small team where all contributions matter
  • Minimum qualified – NVQ Level 3 Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
  • 17th or 18th Edition
  • PLC – electrical fault finding
  • Able to fault find both electrically & mechanically
  • Happy working in a time-sensitive busy environment
  • Have experience with continuous improvements & lean manufacturing
  • Must be able to read, understand and work with schematic drawings
