Our client is a leading global packaging manufacturer, with a reputation for product quality, which is second to none and industry leading standards. They are looking for an experienced engineering manager to manage the growing engineering department

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Full responsibility & accountability for the running & development of the maintenance department
  • Managing a team of 20 people – shift engineers, apprentices, facilities, team leaders
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture
  • Monitor KPi’s and live data systems, to ensure the success of the maintenance team against goals
  • Manage the workshop, maintenance stores, production machinery, ancillary equipment, site services
  • Develop the department performance, supporting site change initiatives, product quality, data accuracy, making sure SOP’s are met
  • Budget control & monitoring, working closely with the accounts team
  • Supplier negotiation, contractor management, PPM planning & updates
  • Health & safety management
  • Manage the team’s performance – appraisals, training & development plans, disciplinaries, holidays

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Must be an experienced engineering manager, someone that can hit the ground running
  • Need to be a strong man-manager, confident and approachable character
  • Able to positively influence cultural change
  • Must be a time-served, qualified engineer
  • Ideally have worked in packaging manufacturing or FMCG / Food / Plastics
  • Knowledge of health & safety processes and procedures
  • Must be NEBOSH qualified
  • Able to manage KPi’s, PPM plans, report on live data
  • Stores management & supplier negotiation
  • Must have extensive departmental management experience, managing at least 20 people
