Our client is a leading manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to a recent promotion on site, they are looking for a strong man-manager to lead their engineering team.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead and implement site maintenance strategy for all planned and preventative maintenance
  • Managing a team of X10 multi-skilled shift engineers across a 24/5 manufacturing operation
  • Responsible for all maintenance of production machinery, facilities and site services
  • Provide technical leadership and strong man-management support
  • Training, coaching, developing, influencing positive change of the engineering team
  • Drive health & safety, ensure risk assessments, safe systems of work and compliance are up-to-date
  • Managing the engineering budgets and CAPEX projects
  • PPM planning, scheduling, TPM, stores management, contractor & supplier control

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Must have excellent man-management skills & qualities
  • Be an approachable coach/leader, that can influence positive change
  • Ideally have worked as a multi-skilled engineer previously – good electrical & mechanical knowledge
  • Open minded & proactive person
  • Be a qualified engineer
  • Beneficial to have worked in manufacturing
  • Technical engineering knowledge – PLC’s, production machinery, automation, drives
  • Experience of health & safety, PPM’s, TPM, quality, KPi management, budget control
  • Able to work well under pressure and to targets
  • Excellent communication skills – senior management to shopfloor level
  • Ideally have experience of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects
