Our client is a leading manufacturer & distributor of specialist products supplied through the UK & Europe, part of a larger global group. With a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. They are looking for an experienced Distribution Shift Manager to manage the late shift operation.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • A busy role, overseeing a team of up to 15 people + agency workers during busier periods
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety and quality control of products
  • Will be the sole manager on the late shift – very much on the shopfloor, with great responsibility
  • Provide leadership and guidance to optimise individual and team performance
  • Oversee goods in, warehousing and shipping of multiple orders and products
  • Maintain stock inventory levels via the Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Ensure that customers expectations and service level agreements (SLA’s) are met
  • Carry out staff absence reporting, training, disciplinaries, reviews, RTW’s, development plans
  • Support the whole department to achieve KPi targets, goals and objectives
  • Ensure colleague wellbeing, training and health & safety standards are maintained and documented

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Must have experience of working in a busy distribution and warehouse environment
  • Need to be a confident, driven, motivated and enthusiastic character
  • Must have experience of using a modern Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Confident in resolving any issues, making important decisions
  • Have done staff appraisals, disciplinaries, reviews and managed an agency workforce
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word
  • Ideally qualified in IOSH, NEBOSH, Six Sigma, SEMA Racking Inspection Certificate
  • Worked in a targeted, KPi driven environment, with understanding the requirements of customers
  • This role would suit someone who enjoys the buzz of a busy warehouse environment
  • Beneficial to have knowledge of Health & Safety, Quality Controls and Planning
