12hr Shifts – 4on 4off Perm Days (7am-7pm)

Our client is a leading food manufacturer, that values hard work, teamwork and developing people. They are part of a global group with multiple sites in the UK, this is their biggest factory employing over 500 people. They are looking for an electrical biased engineer that wants to develop their career down the route of working with automation, PLC’s, controls & robotics.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Looking for an electrical biased engineer or control technician that’s wants to step up and train into being a shift controls engineer, supporting the shift maintenance engineers
  • Will be responsible for providing electrical assistance on fault diagnostics and breakdown repairs to automation, PLC’s and control systems across all areas of manufacturing
  • PLC – electrical fault finding – Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley
  • Project work – work closely with the control manager on continuous improvements & upgrades of the site PLC systems, automation and robotics
  • Manage the site electrical compliance – legislation, documentation, reporting, PAT
  • Be the site Electrical Duty Holder once trained
  • Make sure electrical work is carried out safely, LOTO, isolation – supporting shift engineers

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Must be either an electrical biased engineer or controls technician
  • Ideally have worked in food manufacturing or a similar fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • PLC – electrical fault finding skills
  • Ideally HNC / HND qualified in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualified electrically
  • Beneficial to have 18th Edition
  • Apprenticeship trained
  • Able to work to time sensitive breakdowns and repairs
  • Previously have worked with automation & control systems
  • Worked on structured PPM’s – on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Must have strong electrical skills – safety, isolation, LOTO
  • Control panels – wiring, build, installation, FAT
  • Ideally have dealt with SCADA & Robotic Systems
  • Knowledge of electrical compliance, legislations & standards
  • Confident character, able to make decision on own initiative
  • Any experience of manufacturing continuous improvement projects beneficial
  • Willing to train and develop skills
