Monday-Friday Days (08:00-16:00)

£34,000-£36,000 + Overtime

Our client is a leading industrial manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. They are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their close knit, supportive engineering team.

 

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Carry out mechanical maintenance, PPM and installations of site processing equipment, plant, packaging machinery & site services
  • Will be an opportunity in the near future to progress to team leader due to up and coming retirements
  • Ensure site compliance on high-pressure systems and rotating equipment
  • Working on heavy industrial processing equipment, pressure vessels, production & packaging machinery, conveyors, mixers, pipework, fillers, palletisers, labellers, wrappers
  • Mechanical fitting, fabrication & welding
  • Basic electrical work to support mechanical maintenance
  • Assist in maintaining & improving the planned maintenance systems
  • Dealing with bearings, shafts, drives, gearboxes, hydraulics, pumps, pneumatics, valves
  • Basic PLC electrical fault finding

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Must be a mechanically biased maintenance engineer
  • Have completed a time-served 4 year mechanical apprenticeship
  • Qualified to a minimum City & Guilds Part 2 Mechanical or NVQ Level 3
  • At Least 5 years’ experience within maintenance industry with rotating equipment
  • Ideally have worked on heavy industrial equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, pipework, pumps
  • Experience of dealing with high-speed production & packaging machinery and conveyors
  • Ideally be aware of DSEAR / ATEX standards – however training can be provided
  • Knowledge of maintenance management systems – SAP
  • Beneficial to have worked previously in chemical, pharmaceutical or FMCG manufacturing
  • Bonus to be qualified in CompEX or ATEX standards
  • Must be an excellent team player, problem solver with a “can do” attitude
  • Able to work in a changing environment, with a continuous improvement approach
  • Computer literate – MS Office, SAP, etc.
