Responsibilities:
- Assist in the procurement process, including sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, and negotiating prices.
- Create and maintain purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with suppliers to track and expedite orders, resolving any issues that may arise.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels to ensure optimal inventory management.
- Collaborate with the production team to plan and schedule production activities based on demand and available resources.
- Assist in forecasting and demand planning to ensure adequate stock levels and minimise shortages.
- Generate reports and analyse data related to purchasing and planning activities.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of any supplier-related issues.
- Assist in the implementation and improvement of purchasing and planning processes.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a purchasing or planning role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and demand planning.
- Proficient in using purchasing and planning software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials is preferred.
