Procurement Assistant (BBBH381265) Middlesbrough, England

Salary: GBP17.96 - GBP17.96 per hour

Our client, one of the UK's leading energy providers, is looking for a Procurement Assistant to join the Commercial Department on-site at a Power Station in Hartlepool.

Main Responsibilities: 
 

  • Carry out the ordering and the management of PPE & Stationery.
  • Ensuring compliance of the Acquire Goods and Service process.
  • Assist with resolving invoice queries.
  • Carry out the ordering of goods and services up to a value of £20k.
  • Establish call off arrangements.
  • Complete third-party inspection paperwork and manage process.
  • Carry out negotiations with external suppliers.

 
Knowledge and Skills Required: 
 

  • Good IT literacy (Microsoft Office & Excel).
  • Able to communicate at all levels within the business, both to staff, colleagues in other departments and to supplier staff to build effective working relationships.
  • Knowledge of the principles of basic Procurement and purchasing procedures and the ability to apply this information in a pragmatic way.
  • Previous buying experience essential.
  • Able to multitask, organise, and prioritise workloads, as well as meet deadlines.
  • A resourceful individual who is flexible in approach. 
  • Previous SAP experience preferred.
  • You will have strong organisational, negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to deal with both internal customers and external supplier queries.
  • Good attention to detail and be able to contribute ideas and solutions in a fast-moving environment.
