International Japanese Company is looking to hire a Japan-based Backend Engineer to tackle the development and operation of their API services.

For this position, your primary responsibilities will be for the development and operation of the company’s API services. Specifically, you will be engaging in backend system development using Java and Spring, while covering a wide range of tasks from architecture consideration and system design to responding to user inquiries.

Collaboration with related teams within the company (Membership, Payment Teams, etc.) and handling large-scale traffic will also be required. This role offers the opportunity to refine your technical skills while working collaboratively with the team to achieve results. As a Backend Engineer in this position, mentorship and developing the next generation of talent will be key to continuing the company’s growth.

Mandatory Qualifications

6+ years of experience with:

・API development and operation with Java and Spring Framework

・Microservices architecture

・RDBMS (e.g. Oracle, MySQL) and ORMs

・NoSQL databases technologies especially MongoDB and ElasticSearch

・Cloud configuration or similar technologies

・Load testing, performance measurement and improvement

・Automation testing (e.g. xUnit / xSpec) in large scale

・Web API development on Linux

・Development on IaaS, CaaS, PaaS
