JOB Title: Project Finance Lawyer

A top tier global law firm is looking for an ambitious Associate to join their Projects, Energy, and Infrastructure team in London. This role offers the chance to work with industry leaders and make a significant impact in the legal world.

The team has a strong track record in delivering top-notch legal services across the infrastructure (transport, social infrastructure, and infra tech) and energy (power/renewables, natural resources, and mining) sectors. The successful candidate will collaborate with a global team to drive change, open new opportunities, and accelerate growth for clients and colleagues.

In this role, you will represent a diverse range of clients, including sponsors, multilateral institutions, developers, equity investors, financial institutions, institutional investors, governments, contractors, utilities, and regulatory bodies. You will advise on the financing of projects, structure, draft, and negotiate financing documents, and provide support during the construction and operational phases. Additionally, you will engage in business development activities, including networking events and pitch document production.

To be successful in this role, you will need at least two years of post-qualified experience from a top tier UK, Australian, or New Zealand law firm, stellar academics, and experience in drafting and negotiating finance documents up to financial close. Experience with development financial institutions and export credit agencies is beneficial. Strong technical legal drafting skills, communication, client relations, and team-working abilities are essential.
