About the role:

 

As Chief Information Officer you will develop, plan, and implement an information technology strategy that meets the company’s business needs, delivers optimal return on investment, and maintains utmost security. In your role you will oversee projects and assignments within the IT systems and will lead an efficient operation of the team so that prompt modernisation and upgrades of our systems are performed as needed. You will conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive and communicate with the executive board team to ensure the company goals and values are aligned. Ensuring the company moves forward with advances in technology and methods of processing and managing information, your role is that of a leader and innovator for the company’s information technology department.

 

Main responsibilities & duties:

 

 

  • Working closely with the Chief Digital Officer to implement the Pharmanovia digital healthcare strategy
  • Working collaboratively with the Projects Management Office and IT forum to ensure the long-range IT road map is prosecuted and maintained
  • Collaborating with members of the executive team to identify ways IT can assist the company in achieving business and financial goals
  • Identifying new IT developments and technologies, anticipating resulting organisational modifications
  • Ensuring that the IT and network infrastructure adequately supports the company’s computing, data processing, and communication needs
  • Developing and implementing the IT budget
  • Communicating goals, projects and timelines of the company to the department, with plans to execute those goals within the department
  • Establishing long-term IT needs and plans and developing strategies for developing systems and acquiring software and hardware necessary to meet those needs
  • Assisting as top-level contact for end users in determining IT requirements and/or solutions
  • Ensuring compliance with Government regulations that apply to systems and operations
  • Ensuring the company’s data remains secure by keeping up to date on the latest cyber security threats and finds ways to guard against them on an organisation-wide scale
  • Coaching members of the IT team, particularly IT leaders, so everyone stays on the same page across the company
  • Reviewing vendor proposals and making decisions based on things such as price, what they offer and how the vendor product may fit into the organisation
  • Overseeing the development and testing of new programmes developed specifically for the company
  • Directly managing and overseeing key projects
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

 

About you:

 

A ‘digital native’ – you are able to learn quickly in the rapidly evolving technical environment. Candidates with about 10 years’ experience in administrating information systems and technology, gaining increasing responsibility, are likely to have the skills and knowledge required for this role. We are also looking for:

 

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or Information Technology
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP (ideally SAP migration from R3 to S/4 Hana)
  • Experience of managing technology infrastructure for decentralised organisations
  • Experience in strategic technology planning and execution, as well as policy development and maintenance
  • Experience implementing integration platforms, and managing communication and information platforms (both internal and external)
  • Ability to develop an enterprise applications strategy, and experience with implementing enterprise cloud applications
  • Ability to effectively drive people and process, and technology change, in a dynamic and complex operating environment – strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strong business acumen, including domain-specific knowledge of the company and its business units
  • Ability to act as a strategic, savvy business partner to executives and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to build senior relationships and influence/facilitate/coordinate especially globally
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal – ability to explain digital concepts to business leaders, and business concepts to technologists
  • Project management experience and great organisational skills
  • Highly analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel as required for the role
