Deputy Packing Supervisor (BBBH58127) City Of Manchester, England

My client is a household name within the bakery industry and situated within the Greater Manchester area.
Due to continued growth they are looking for a Deputy Packing Supervisor to join their team.
The bakery operates under strict Food Safety Standards guidelines and is proud to be a ‘AA’ rated supplier under the BRCGS.
The suitable candidate will be required to work, to a very high standard, within these guidelines and complete routines and paperwork dictated by them.
The specific responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to: • Working on the lines. Handling Induction processes.
Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times including ensuring that guards on the machinery are checked throughout the working shift • Supervising the cleaning of packing area and equipment to the very high standard dictated by Food Safety Standards guidelines •
Overseeing the completion of cleaning schedules/records •
Ensuring that staff follow personal hygiene rules • Maintaining Quality Assurance records relevant to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points guidelines •
Ensuring the correct packaging is used for each customer in line with their packaging/coding requirements.
Carrying out Quality Assurance inspections on the final boxes in the absence of the Packing Supervisor.
Hours of work are 7.00am - 4pm Monday to Friday, with 30 minutes for lunch; a 10 minute break in the morning and 15 minutes in the afternoon.
The occasional overtime will be required on Saturday mornings to meet customer requirements; this will be paid at time and a half.
The suitable candidate will possess the following attributes: • Employment history showing long term supervisory roles with previous employers as it is important to us that longevity can be achieved with the employee; •
Experience in food production environment would be an advantage; • An excellent attendance and punctuality record; • Strong leadership qualities; • Good oral and written communication skills; •
An ability to manage their time and that of their staff to ensure that goods are available for despatch before the allotted time; •
A conscientious attitude and keen eye to identify any issues with the product or its packaging, prior to despatch; • The bakery is very proud to be ‘AA’ rated under BRCGS Food Standards and it is essential that a suitable candidate is able to monitor, control and document all aspects of the packing department processes on a daily basis
