We are working with a cutting edge software consultancy based in central London. They’re looking we for senior software engineers, with a passion for big data to help us deliver the highest quality software for our clients. There are multiple hires at the business, so if you have a passion for big data and few of skills listed below, this business would want to speak to you. They work in a hybrid model, which can look like two days in the office, 3 days at home, or 3 days at home and 2 in the office. They’re flexible to suit your schedule and the curveballs that life throw’s at you.
Here’s a breakdown of the some of the technologies you can expect to use in this role:
- Python
- Containers, Serverless
- Snowflake
- ECS, CloudFormation, Lambda, Kinesis,
- RedShift, Glue, Athena, RDS, Neo4j Graph DB and many more.
Responsibilities:
- As part of an agile team, you will design, build, deploy, and monitor highly scalable and reliable cloud services, used within our Data Lake and Warehouse.
- Take a quality first approach to everything you do paying particular attention to testing and maintainability
- Constantly learn new skills and techniques
What we are looking for: (Essential skills)
- 5 year experience Python
- The ability to write reliable and efficient SQL queries that operate at scale
- A desire to mentor and grow colleagues across the business
- Experience using CI/CD and TDD to accelerate delivery
- A passion for testing and its importance in the software development life cycle
- A sound understanding of cloud concepts
- An ability to translate functional requirements into code
- A thirst for knowledge and a desire to make things better
Bonus Points:
- Exposure to monitoring and debugging in-life issues within a distributed cloud environment
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC), we use Cloudformation
- Experience of designing and building large scale data pipelines
- Experience of data validation tools such as DBT
