Due to continuous growth in the last 2-3 years and 24/7 operation, GI Pro are recruiting for an Injection Moulding Tool Setter for our Plastic Fabrication client based in Northampton.

Woking a night shift 10pm – 6am Monday – Friday

Offering a salary of up to £33,400 per annum

This is a full-time permanent role

 

The client - Manufacture rubber moulding, thermoplastic and silicone components

Role Description

  • Working on up to 10 injection moulding machines, you will be responsible for tool changes, operating and setting up plastic moulding machinery for the machine operators to run.
  • The role is to ensure production continues in line with the production plan whilst ensuring and maintaining the quality standards of products
  • Additionally regular tool maintenance and identification of tooling and equipment issues will form part of the role, escalating these to the process manager.
  • As the Night Shift setter, you will be operating autonomously ensuring the products produced are to the standards required by our customers.
  • As such the ability to problem solve and show true leadership to resolve problems is a key characteristic that we will be looking for.
  • We need a practical person with a "can do" attitude to support and bolster the production team within the plastics department.
  • The ability to identify process improvements and suggest opportunities to implement improvements is critical in this role. 

 

Candidate attributes

  • Installation of plastic tooling
  • Experience in setting plastic moulding machinery and operation (typically 60T - 500T)
  • Experience and knowledge of ancillary equipment
  • Knowledge of hot runner systems and set up
  • Knowledge of various thermoplastic materials and processing parameters, typically PA, PP, HDPE, PC/ABS, etc,
  • Ability to ensure quality control and product consistency through machine set up and ongoing monitoring
  • Overhead crane training and certification is essential
  • Problem solving and resolution through root cause analysis
  • Strong attention to detail, IT capable
  • Experience with quality inspection processes
  • Forklift capability (Pedestrian Stacker or FLT – is an advantage)
  • Vocational training in plastics manufacturing or related field with minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 (IATF16949 desirable) and following robust procedures
