NEW ROLE IN - Level Crossing Attendants

Role Summary:

Assist in the safe operation of level crossings. 

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of pedestrians and vehicles crossing the railway tracks.

Job Responsibilities:

- Monitor and observe approaching trains to determine when to close and reopen the level crossing gates or barriers.

- Communicate effectively with train operators and control centres to coordinate the safe passage of trains through the level crossing.

- Ensure that all warning signals and lights are functioning properly and clearly visible to road users and pedestrians.

- Provide assistance and guidance to pedestrians and drivers using the level crossing.

- Respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents that may occur at the level crossing and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

- Must be reliable and able to work on an ad-hoc basis with flexible hours.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

- High level of alertness and attention to detail.

- Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures.

- Previous experience in a similar role or familiarity with railway operations is preferred but not required.
