Senior Mechanical Quality Inspector

Days – Mon – Thurs 8am- 5:00pm Fri 8:00am – 1:00pm
£32,000 to £41,000 - Pension and Holidays, performance bonus

Role Description
- Inspection (first off and final inspection) of machined components using conventional metrology equipment and coordinate measuring machines.
- Preparation of components for dispatch to customers. This will involve manual finishing (de-burring/polishing) so that components are presented in the right condition to be incorporated in to customers’ product.
- Maintaining records and following procedures as per the Company’s ISO9001 quality system.
- Preparation of FAIR reports.
- Experience programming and operating an Aberlink CNC CMM would be a distinct advantage.
Skills and Qualifications
- Background experience in Mechanical Engineering or Machinery
- Fully experienced in the use of conventional metrology equipment and CNC coordinate measuring machines.
- Thorough understanding of engineering drawings including geometrical tolerancing.
- Experience of working within an ISO9001 or AS9100 environment and detailed knowledge of calibration systems would be advantageous, particularly instrument calibration experience.
- The ideal candidate will have specific experience in a Precision Machining environment, will have a good appreciation of mechanical engineering principles and have a fine eye for detail.
- We are looking for a team player who in conjunction with our skilled machinists will produce products to the most exacting standards for our blue-chip customer base.
- Must be local to site
