Polar Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading IT Services client for a Discovery Consultant to join a highly successful Consultancy Practice, supporting Data Centre Transformation, Migration and Cloud Assessment projects involving Application/Service/Infrastructure Discovery

 

Discovery Consultant - Responsibilities

  • Undertake consultancy assignments, support senior Architects and work as part of a team on larger projects.
  • Harvest, analyse and report on existing and discovery data
  • Contribute to high level and detailed level designs and test plans
  • Discovery of key infrastructure and applications/services
  • Discovery Tool selection
  • Interviewing of customer stakeholders
  • Adherence to discovery processes and project scope and objectives.
  • Contribute to transformation and migration design and planning
  • Training in tool and process use.
  • Assist with the development of the discovery framework

 

Discovery Consultant - Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar client facing consulting role, ideally with an IT Services or Consultancy business.
  • Expertise in discovery tools and techniques
  • Good knowledge of one or more discovery tools - e.g. BMC Discovery/ADDM, TADDM, HP Universal Discovery, CloudScape, VROps, Lanamark, ScienceLogic etc.
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more datacentre technologies – Storage / Backup / Networking / Virtualisation / Wintel / Unix
  • Ability to ascertain and document IT applications / services /infrastructure and dependencies through interviewing, documentation reviews and discovery tools data
  • Understanding strategies for migrating applications to the Cloud
  • Excellent communications skills, including documentation and presentation skills
  • Full clean Driving Licence and willing to travel widely for assignments
