Full-time on-site position

Major Recruitment is working alongside a young and exciting food ingredients importer exporter who has a strong presence working with leading retailers and hospitality clients across Europe  

As a Senior Buyer, you will work closely with the CEO of the business, buying seafood, dairy and a range of products from global clients across Asia and Europe

This is a full-time on-site position with typical working hours being 9-5 however flexibility on this is also possible

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Buyer

• Sourcing & Procurement: Identify, negotiate, and secure high-quality English Cheddar cheese suppliers.
• Quality Control: Ensure all products meet our strict quality standards and specifications.
• Market Insight: Stay ahead of industry trends, pricing, and market shifts.
• Inventory & Demand Planning: Manage stock levels, rotations, and demand forecasts.
• Cost Management: Deliver cost-effective purchasing solutions while maintaining quality and sustainability.
• Product Innovation: Collaborate with internal teams on NPD and EPD initiatives.
• Compliance: Ensure all products meet food safety, labelling, and regulatory requirements.

Skills required to be a successful Senior Buyer

• Proven experience in purchasing within a food or food manufacturing environment (Dairy would be advantageous) 
• Strong cost control and negotiation skills.
• High-speed decision-making with meticulous attention to detail.
• BRCGS certification.
• ERP software proficiency.
• Fluency in English + a European Language
