Job Purpose |
The role is responsible for managing EMEA VAT advisory topics, such as leading on audits, business queries, and providing advice during business change projects.
The EMEA VAT manager will lead all VAT matters for EMEA, so providing business decision support, risk management and VAT optimization for the worldwide Consumer Healthcare (‘CH’) business in EMEA.

Key Responsibilities |

These responsibilities include some of the following: · Provision of timely and proactive VAT advice on product VAT liability, M&A transactions, business models, contracting and other ad hoc matters; · Proactive management and mitigation of VAT risks arising in the business, including, as appropriate escalation of those matters to the Head of Trade Compliance & Indirect Tax through regular and communication channels and the reporting of those risks within the relevant governance structures; · Strategic management of VAT audits through adviser management and collaborative relationships with the wider finance & commercial organisation; · Partnering with the Head of Trade Compliance and Indirect Tax to ensure that the VAT affairs of the CH business are arranged to maximize cashflow and minimize VAT costs; · Lead regional VAT technical projects, including project management activities · Review new commercial agreements such as customer and vendor agreements, tax indemnifications etc · Preparation and leading delivery of training in relation to Indirect Tax matters |
Knowledge/ Education / Previous Experience Required |
Required: · At least 4 years in VAT/GST advisory or compliance role · Some experience / awareness of tax technology · Excellent communication skills (ability to explain VAT topics in a way non specialists understand is essential), experience in presenting, and ability to influence stakeholders · Ability to work in culturally diverse teams and reconcile cultural differences to successfully deliver services · Innovative thinking to drive changes and process improvements · Educated to degree level, or equivalent Preferred · Tax qualification · In-house experience working with a multinational · Both compliance and advisory experience |
